(MONTREAL, QC) Retail leader MonkeySports and MYGOAL are combining forces to offer hockey consumers what they call ‘The Ultimate Hockey Experience’ in Montreal.
Launching in Canada for the first time, the new MonkeySports Experience (HockeyMonkey) store will be located in the West Island of Montreal (widely-regarded as a ‘mecca’ of hockey activity) and players will be offered the widest selection of products, have the opportunity to “try-before-they-buy”, receive expert advice from in-store & on-ice professionals, and have all of their training needs serviced.
John Naaman, CEO of MonkeySports, notes, “Even though MonkeySports had not yet been in Canada, it was still one of the most popular hockey retailers with hockey players. The new state-of-the-art MonkeySports Experience store will be approximately 25,000sqf and will offer the largest variety of hockey products”.
He adds, ‘‘it was important to combine MonkeySports with MYGOAL as a first entry into the Canadian market. MonkeySports wanted to come into the market by doing something different. Simply opening a Megastore would have been exciting. Opening a store – combined with a whole new concept like MYGOAL – will set us completely apart from our competition. MonkeySports wants to offer hockey players more. MonkeySports and MYGOAL want to do hockey better.’’

The new MonkeySports (HockeyMonkey) store and MYGOAL Performance Hockey facility are set to open in late Summer 2016, located at 61 Brunswick St. Dollard Des Ormeaux, QC H9B 2N4 with plans to open more locations in the near future.
